TEAH’s OT travels to your community — typically by charter flight or road — to conduct the assessment in the participant’s home or community setting. Travel costs are billed from the participant’s Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living budget and disclosed upfront. We discuss travel logistics with you at intake before any commitment is made.
Can TEAH conduct OT via telehealth for remote NT participants?
Yes — telehealth can be used for interview and questionnaire components of an assessment. However, telehealth cannot substitute for an in-home visit for home modification assessments, SIL assessments, or FCA components that require direct environmental observation. We recommend a hybrid approach where possible.
How are travel costs handled for remote NT OT?
Travel costs — flights, accommodation, and vehicle hire — are billed from the participant’s IDL budget at reasonable commercial rates. We provide a clear travel cost estimate before confirming a remote assessment booking.
Does TEAH work with NT Government housing for modification assessments?
Yes — TEAH’s OTs have experience with Housing NT properties and the specific construction requirements of Territory housing stock, including cyclone-rated modifications and accessible design standards applicable in the NT.
